Description

Are you a cloud computing and containerization expert who enjoys low-level programming and orchestrating architectures on the cloud and Kubernetes? Are you excited about writing the foundational code used by customers to run the core of their businesses?

Engine Yard is changing how applications are deployed and managed on AWS with our NoOps containerized platform. We are transitioning the business from an Instances- and EC2-based platform to a Kubernetes- and EKS-based platform. You will design and implement the platform’s features, investigate opportunities for its continuous improvement, and solve complex platform-related issues.

If you want to drive Engine Yard's transformation while sharpening your AWS and Kubernetes skills, we would love to hear from you.

What you will be doing

  • Designing and implementing features at scale
  • Investigating issues & fixing customer-related issues
  • Providing technical insights to the product management team for platform improvement

What you will NOT be doing

  • Designing solutions without implementing them; this is a hands-on role where you will implement your solutions with scalable code
  • Performing non-technical tasks; we want you to spend your time solving critical technical problems, not wading through piles of paperwork
  • Writing functions and libraries, or tools used for developing applications

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for the technical design of features and their implementation for Engine Yard platforms used by our customers.

Candidate requirements

  • Proficient coder (in any language)
  • Experience coding with AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Docker, or Kubernetes
  • Work experience as a DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer
