You'll work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and educational measurement, leveraging AI tools to design, validate, and refine assessments that drive meaningful learning outcomes.

What you will be doing

  • Architect and optimize AI-powered assessment systems that automatically generate, calibrate, and validate test content
  • Design innovative rubrics and measurement frameworks that combine traditional psychometric principles with AI capabilities
  • Analyze learning data to identify patterns and opportunities for improving educational outcomes
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance our curriculum through data-driven insights
  • Pioneer new approaches to educational measurement that leverage the latest advances in AI technology

What you will NOT be doing

  • Manually writing individual test items or assessment questions - our AI tools handle the heavy lifting
  • Building technical infrastructure or coding assessment platforms - our engineering team manages the technical implementation
  • Working in isolation on theoretical research - this is a highly collaborative, practical role focused on real-world impact
  • Maintaining legacy assessment systems - we're focused on creating the future of educational measurement

Key responsibilities

Drive the development and implementation of next-generation assessment systems that combine AI capabilities with sound psychometric principles to deliver personalized, effective learning measurements at scale.

Candidate requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas: psychometrics, educational measurement, assessment design, standardized test creation, item writing, cognitive psychology in learning, educational data analysis, Item Response Theory, or computer adaptive testing.
  • Proven track record applying these principles in practical settings.
  • Doctoral degree (PhD) in a relevant subject area.
  • Strong understanding of learning science principles and mastery-based learning approaches.
  • Proficiency with AI tools in educational content development or demonstrated ability to quickly master new technologies.
  • A user-centric approach and the ability to critically evaluate content in terms of appropriateness, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and disciplines.
  • Passion for educational innovation and commitment to improving learning outcomes.
