Founder-in-Residence   $400,000 USD/year

Description

Are you a proven entrepreneur ready to scale a school model that breaks all the rules—and gets better results?

We’ve already launched a flagship campus that combines our 2 Hour Learning academic core with immersive, specialized programming for kids who thrive in digital-first, high-agency environments. Now we’re seeking a builder who can take what works—and make it repeatable across cities, staff, and student populations without losing the magic.

This role is for someone who believes what we believe: That kids don’t need more lectures—they need mastery. That video games and eSports are powerful learning and leadership tools when used with purpose. That virtual learning can drive deeper outcomes than traditional schools if it’s designed to do so. If you’re nodding, keep reading.

You’ll spend time on the ground in Austin (about 1 week/month), learning from what’s working—and building the playbook to take it national. You’ll design high-fidelity experiences, prove they work, and evangelize the results with clarity and conviction. This isn’t an ops role. It’s not for someone trying to "improve education." It’s for a founder who wants to redefine it.

What you will be doing

  • Building a scalable school model based on our successful flagship campus, tailored to different markets but delivering consistent results.
  • Designing immersive, non-traditional learning experiences that resonate with specialized student populations like gamers and digital natives.
  • Validating new programs in real-world conditions and creating playbooks for rapid national expansion.
  • Converting market interest into enrollment through persuasive storytelling and public evangelism.
  • Leveraging AI to generate insights, content, and systems that enable scale without losing quality.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Creating a one-off campus or pilot—this is about repeatable models and scalable frameworks.
  • Tinkering with curriculum or running day-to-day academic operations.
  • Replicating traditional education structures or classroom norms.
  • Working in a model you don't fully believe in—this role demands conviction in our philosophy and mission.
  • Settling for local success without a national growth vision.

Key responsibilities

Develop and scale a distinctive school model that combines immersive experiences and 2 Hour Learning to drive measurable success across diverse student populations nationwide.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven track record building and scaling new ventures, ideally as a founder or growth leader in a startup.
  • Deep belief in and understanding of non-traditional education methods (e.g. eSports, gamified learning, virtual-first models).
  • Exceptional communicator with media presence, public speaking ability, and content creation experience.
  • Skilled in using GenAI tools for insight, design, and productivity.
  • Based in the US and able to travel to Austin regularly (approx. 1 week/month).
  • Eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
