We’ve developed AI-generated educational content that keeps students engaged and combined it with one-on-one coaching to provide efficient, personalized, adaptive learning experiences for each student. 

Your role is extremely important in ensuring the academic growth of our students. You will work closely with 4th-12th grade students and parents through regular check-ins, assessing their learning needs, monitoring progress, motivating them, and developing individualized learning plans. You will collaborate with our team of academic engineers and parents to optimize each student's learning journey. This position is about inspiring confidence, fostering passion and accountability for learning among students, and keeping clear communication between gt.school and parents.

What you will be doing

  • Meeting with students and parents weekly
  • Analyzing and reporting on data from student performance to provide actionable insights
  • Utilizing assessments to gauge students' practical application of knowledge
  • Motivating and holding students accountable for progress, helping them commit to a plan for success
  • Collaborating with our academic team to provide insights on program improvements based on student feedback and performance
  • Providing periodic tutoring on specific subjects where students are struggling; subjects include all K-12 topics including AP courses and SAT/ACT test prep.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Serving as the primary teacher of academic content; our apps and algorithms do the bulk of the teaching and you'll only be responsible for occasional tutoring on specific trouble areas
  • Assigning students a plan of action; you'll help students develop their own plan, putting them in the driver's seat.
  • Building educational software products; our technical & content teams build the products and you'll be in charge of helping students learn to use them successfully.

Key responsibilities

  • Proactively identifying and addressing challenges faced by students in a self-paced environment
  • Providing motivation to students to help them achieve their success plan
  • Liaising with students and parents, helping to create a seamless experience for our customers

Candidate requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience taking both AP classes and SAT/ACT tests as a student
  • At least 3 years of experience tutoring or teaching K-12 students
  • Subject-matter expertise in 3+ domains: Science, History, Math, English/Language Arts, Test Prep (SAT/ACT/AP)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate a message clearly in a high-pressure situation 
  • Available to work within our afterschool hours of 12 PM - 12 AM EST (based on student demand)
