Not taking the CCAT seriously is a fundamental mistake. So is using a calculator, or not getting enough sleep beforehand.
The CCAT is designed to challenge the best and the brightest from wherever they come from in the world. We’re more difficult to get into than Harvard University!
Being mentally sharp is key.
Lack of sleep or relying on calculators during the non-proctored version of the CCAT will lead to lower scores. Trust in your natural abilities and prepare thoroughly to avoid unpleasant surprises in the proctored test.
The CCAT is rigorous, and shortcuts will only lower your chances.
Prepare properly or you won’t make it.
Mistake #5: Disregarding Assessment Instructions and Processes
You’ve failed to read and follow the specific instructions for assessments, leading to avoidable mistakes. Ouch!
Not carefully reading assessment instructions, time limits, or evaluation criteria will lead to costly application errors.
Heather says, “Read the instructions for assessments carefully. Know whether you have a time limit, and whether you are allowed to switch browsers. Review the “how you will be evaluated” section and ensure your submission meets the criteria!”
Understand the guidelines thoroughly to make sure that your submissions meet all requirements.
And if you decide not to pursue a role, inform candidate support instead of intentionally failing an assessment! Those results stay on your profile for six months.
