Network Engineer $100,000USD/year ($50 USD/hour)

Description

Are you the network virtuoso who thrives on untangling complex infrastructures and architecting elegant solutions? Do you relish being the go-to expert for solving intricate technical puzzles independently?

We're seeking a top-tier Network Engineer to revolutionize our AWS infrastructure. This isn't your average role – it's a chance to be the driving force behind our technical evolution.

You'll be the mastermind who dives deep into diverse inherited systems, decodes their intricacies, and implements game-changing improvements. With broad authority to standardize and optimize our AWS landscape, you'll ensure rock-solid reliability across multiple products and tech stacks.

What you will be doing

  • Spearhead the evolution of our AWS infrastructure, implementing cutting-edge best practices and automation
  • Architect and deploy state-of-the-art monitoring solutions that provide unparalleled visibility into complex systems
  • Craft powerful tools and automation to boost reliability and slash operational overhead
  • Conduct deep dives into acquired systems, mastering their intricacies and driving transformative improvements
  • Tackle and conquer challenging infrastructure issues independently, forging innovative solutions where conventional approaches fall short

What you will NOT be doing

  • Drowning in Jira tickets and endless status meetings – we value action over bureaucracy
  • Maintaining outdated systems indefinitely – you'll have the power to drive meaningful upgrades
  • Navigating bureaucratic approval chains – you'll have the authority to execute critical fixes swiftly
  • Getting pigeonholed into narrow technical silos – this role demands both breadth and depth of expertise
  • Battling for budget to implement essential improvements – we recognize the paramount importance of infrastructure investment

Key responsibilities

Revolutionize the reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio by implementing robust monitoring, cutting-edge automation, and AWS best practices at scale.

Candidate requirements

  • Profound AWS infrastructure expertise (our primary platform – other cloud experience alone is insufficient)
  • Exceptional programming skills in Python/JavaScript for crafting sophisticated automation and tooling
  • Extensive Kubernetes experience in high-stakes production environments
  • Proven track record of implementing comprehensive, enterprise-grade monitoring solutions
  • Mastery of infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Advanced Linux systems administration expertise
  • Ability to handle on-call responsibilities and perform rapid, high-pressure troubleshooting as part of the standard workweek
