Network Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

If you’re a DevOps engineer who not only keeps systems running but ensures they never fail, we’ve got the perfect role for you. Dive into legacy infrastructures, design efficient systems, and automate repetitive tasks. We're seeking an expert in DevOps and AWS infrastructures, who excels in high-pressure environments where 99.9% uptime is a must. You'll work across various acquired products, each unique, migrating them into a streamlined AWS ecosystem while establishing monitoring and automation to minimize incidents.

While many firms focus on maintaining a single stack, we need someone to optimize multiple stacks without disruptions. Instead of isolating databases, we consolidate them strategically to enhance cost and efficiency across our portfolio. This isn't a role for someone wanting to maintain the status quo; it's for those who see fragmented systems and immediately envision improvements.

You'll oversee everything from infrastructure migrations, AI-driven automation, and performance tuning to database migration and cost optimization. This means diagnosing issues, executing seamless cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and automating tasks using AI/ML-powered workflows. You'll have the authority to make infrastructure decisions swiftly, without waiting for approvals from those unfamiliar with the details.

If you thrive on solving complex system puzzles and making them operate perfectly, this is your playground. If you require hand-holding, get overwhelmed by diverse tech stacks, or prefer starting from scratch rather than organizing chaos, this isn’t the place for you. Ready to own a high-impact infrastructure role where you can build, optimize, and automate at scale? Apply today!

What you will be doing

  • Strategize and implement complex infrastructure transitions, including moving from legacy systems to AWS cloud and executing lift-and-shift migrations.
  • Develop monitoring plans and create automations for monitoring, software deployments, and operational workflows.
  • Engage in system monitoring, backups, incident response, database migrations and configurations, and cost optimization.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Spending endless hours in Jira or status meetings—we value solution-driven individuals over problem trackers.
  • Maintaining outdated systems indefinitely—you'll have the power to drive substantial enhancements.
  • Being stalled by bureaucratic approval chains—you'll have the autonomy to implement quick fixes.
  • Being confined to narrow technical silos—this role demands a wide-ranging expertise.
  • Struggling for budget to make critical improvements—we recognize the value of infrastructure investment.

Key responsibilities

  • Enhance reliability and unify cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio by establishing robust monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Extensive AWS infrastructure expertise (our primary platform—experience in other clouds won't suffice).
  • Proficiency in programming with Python or JavaScript to develop automation and tooling.
  • Experience in managing and migrating production databases with diverse engines (MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL).
  • Advanced skills in Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation).
  • Expertise in Linux systems administration.
