Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a full-time, in-person, salaried position located on our Austin, Texas campus. Relocation assistance is available.

Are you passionate about creating joyful, hands-on learning experiences for young children? In this role at Alpha, you’ll guide 4-year-olds through a journey of discovery, using innovative, play-based methods that nurture their social and emotional development. If you believe in the power of curiosity-driven learning and want to help children build a lifelong love for school, this role is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

At Alpha, we challenge the status quo with our 2-Hour Learning program, integrating AI-driven adaptive technology to personalize education like never before. While our students engage with cutting-edge software, they also benefit from the essential human touch with hands-on guidance in reading and writing, supported by experts in scientific educational methodologies. This balance ensures that even our youngest learners develop not only academically but also socially and emotionally under your mentorship.

Why Alpha? Because transforming education also means transforming your career potential. We offer competitive compensation, generous benefits, and the unique opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic, tech-forward environment. If you're passionate about shaping the future of education and adept at building meaningful connections with young learners, we want you on our team.

What you will be doing

  • Leading interactive, play-based sessions that develop motor skills, creativity, and sensory exploration through activities like art projects, storytelling, and simple science experiments.
  • Guiding social-emotional development through collaborative games, role-play, and personalized encouragement, helping children learn empathy, sharing, and self-regulation.
  • Observing and assessing each child's progress, adapting activities in real-time to ensure a supportive and engaging learning environment.
  • Using technology and adaptive tools to personalize the learning experience, making sure every child’s unique needs and learning style are recognized.
  • Building a safe and inclusive space where children feel confident to express themselves, explore new ideas, and develop a growth mindset.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Solely managing a classroom without direct interaction—your role is to actively engage with children through hands-on play and exploration.
  • Relying on worksheets or passive learning methods—at Alpha, you’ll encourage learning through movement, games, and interactive storytelling.
  • Overlooking the social and emotional needs of students in favor of purely academic instruction—our focus is on developing the whole child.

Key responsibilities

  • Foster a love for learning in preschoolers by delivering high-quality, play-based activities that support their growth across motor, social, and emotional skills.
  • Create an environment that encourages self-expression, curiosity, and a sense of safety, enabling students to reach their individual milestones confidently.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with each child, using personalized feedback and encouragement to help them see their potential.
  • Ensure that every child makes progress towards their developmental goals, as tracked through regular observation and milestone assessments.

Candidate requirements

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field OR certifications and training in early childhood methodologies (e.g., Montessori, Reggio Emilia, CDA).
  • Ability to create an engaging, playful environment where children feel valued and excited to learn.
  • Strong comfort with and enthusiasm for using educational technology to enhance learning experiences.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Willingness to work in person at our Austin, TX campus.
