This role isn't about managing feature roadmaps or leading engineering teams. Here, you'll take full command of one or more acquired products, ensuring their vitality by monitoring critical performance indicators like uptime and cost efficiency, and swiftly addressing escalations. Your mission is to ensure both immediate stability and long-term strategic advancements, embedding AI-powered automation at every level. You'll move beyond mere crisis management to systematically modernize outdated architectures, make crucial technical choices, and propel execution through centralized engineering assets. Collaborating closely with business units and product managers, you'll translate high-level strategic objectives into clear, measurable technical results that significantly enhance product performance and profitability.

What you will be doing

  • Become a product expert to steer strategic choices.
  • Craft technical specifications that prioritize simplicity, efficiency, and long-term viability.
  • Leverage generative AI technologies to automate and enhance engineering processes, aligning with the vision of reducing manual labor.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Engaging in pure people management; your expertise in business and technology is crucial.
  • Spending time in meetings, committees, or administrative tasks; we've automated management overhead to let you focus on delivering business value through hands-on work.
  • Proposing high-level strategies without actionable implementation plans; your insights must be grounded in product-level realities.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the CTO for a product, leading efforts to modernize legacy systems, optimize costs, enhance AI-driven automation, and drive business success through effective execution and strategic decision-making.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven experience in making pivotal architecture and design decisions on software products, such as applying architecture design patterns or adopting significant open-source technologies.
  • Experience in scope simplification for software products.
  • Deep knowledge of the AWS ecosystem.
  • Experience using Generative AI to develop product features and streamline work processes.
