Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an in-person role located in Austin, Texas.

Are you ready to revolutionize early childhood education by leading from the front lines? At Alpha School in Austin, we're seeking an exceptional individual who can simultaneously inspire young learners and elevate a team of Guides to new heights.

Imagine being the coach who trains Olympic gymnasts AND competes alongside them, consistently nailing perfect 10s. That's the level of versatility and excellence we're after. You'll split your time between mentoring a cohort of K-2 students and coaching a team of Guides (our term for the dedicated professionals who coach and inspire kids), holding both groups to the highest standards.

Our 2-Hour Learning program integrates AI-driven adaptive technology with hands-on guidance, creating a uniquely personalized education experience. You'll be the linchpin in this system, equally adept at engaging a 5-year-old in foundational literacy and coaching an adult Guide in advanced facilitation techniques.

At Alpha, we don't just challenge the status quo—we redefine it. If you can seamlessly transition from building LEGOs with kindergarteners to conducting data-driven performance reviews with your team, we want you. Your ability to inspire, motivate, and elevate both children and adults will be the catalyst for transforming education from the ground up.

You'll also take on the most challenging cohort of K-2 students—those who push our boundaries in various ways. This might include exceptionally advanced learners we're striving to challenge, fiercely independent spirits we're guiding towards teamwork, or students struggling to engage with our computer-based approach. Your role is to connect these students' academic goals with their unique motivations, setting the gold standard for personalized learning.

Don't just imagine a better educational system—help us build it. Apply now and be part of the team that's writing the next chapter in learning. At Alpha, we're not just preparing students for the future; we're creating it. Are you ready to join us?

What you will be doing

  • Directly mentor a cohort of K-2 students, showcasing world-class facilitation skills in early childhood education
  • Lead and develop a team of Guides, modeling exceptional coaching techniques for young learners
  • Create and implement playbooks that set the gold standard for K-2 education in our innovative learning environment
  • Provide actionable feedback to your team of Guides, driving continuous improvement in student engagement and achievement
  • Leverage AI-driven tools to enhance educational outcomes, bridging the gap between technology and human touch for our youngest learners

What you will NOT be doing

  • Focusing solely on either student instruction or team leadership—you'll excel at both simultaneously
  • Accepting mediocrity from students or Guides—you'll maintain sky-high standards across the board
  • Relying on outdated teaching methods—you'll pioneer new approaches that blend technology with tried-and-true pedagogical practices
  • Shying away from challenges—you'll tackle the complexities of early childhood education and team leadership with equal vigor

Key responsibilities

Champion the development of independent learning and life skills for K-2 students, especially those presenting unique challenges, while simultaneously elevating a team of Guides to implement the Alpha system with world-class excellence.

Candidate requirements

  • Mastery in employing growth mindset and data-driven coaching strategies for diverse age groups
  • Enthusiasm for integrating AI and cutting-edge technologies in early childhood education
  • Willingness to work on-site in Austin, Texas
