In this role, you'll go beyond monotonous project management. You'll be a master strategist, developing a comprehensive AI roadmap that connects our high-level vision with practical implementation. You'll lead cutting-edge research and development efforts, constantly exploring new AI technologies, particularly Generative AI, and identifying those with the potential to revolutionize our operations. 

You'll also be a mentor, identifying and addressing any knowledge gaps within your team. As a hands-on leader, you will guide your team to architect, optimize, and validate high-performing AI solutions that meet both technical standards and the specific needs of the business.

What you will be doing

  • Drive the strategic vision for AI at Ignite, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and market trends.
  • Lead cutting-edge AI research and development, empowering the team to unlock new capabilities and enhance innovation.
  • Architect, optimize, and validate high-performing AI solutions, guaranteeing they meet both business needs and technical standards.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning and development, mentoring and coaching the team to excel in advanced AI methodologies.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Manage existing AI projects; this role goes beyond execution, focusing on shaping the strategic direction of AI at Ignite.
  • Focus on theoretical research; your expertise will be applied to solve real-world business challenges.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive AI strategy that significantly aligns Ignite's AI initiatives with the company's overarching business goals.

Candidate requirements

  • A university degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the AI and tech industry, with a focus on AI innovation, project leadership, and team management.
  • Advanced generative AI proficiency (i.e., use of multiple AI tools, ability to automate workflows and custom GPTs); if you've only used LLMs for research, learning, brainstorming, or content generation, that will be deemed insufficient
  • Strong technical proficiency, especially in Python, with a solid understanding of AI and machine learning technologies and their application in business.
