Description

The software industry often faces challenges when it comes to enhancing existing codebases and fully realizing the potential of AI. This complexity is amplified during the integration of newly acquired companies and their products into an existing ecosystem. At Trilogy, we specialize in acquiring enterprise software products, running them in AWS, and enhancing them to deliver substantial improvements in customer value using generative AI.

As the technical leader of a newly acquired company, you will be at the forefront of transforming how their products, infrastructure, and operations are integrated into our operational model. This role isn't about managing teams—it's about making strategic technical decisions that reshape the product's future. You'll dive into refining complex codebases, modernizing infrastructure, and leveraging Generative AI to increase the business value customers derive from these products by tenfold.

You will act as the primary technical decision-maker, directly influencing product architecture, design, and the product roadmap. Your focus will be on quality, business impact, and ROI, writing specs, creating solutions to complex problems, and defining work for engineering and other departments. You’ll also contribute to the creation of AI-based tools and processes to enhance scalability and improve the quality of work across multiple products. Expect to work across a diverse portfolio that includes companies like:

  • Influitive, a customer advocacy platform
  • Stratifyd, a business intelligence platform
  • Jive, the intranet company
  • Kayako, a helpdesk platform

Your ability to think strategically and technically will be crucial. You'll need to handle vast amounts of information and quickly pivot between products, always with an eye on creating significant business impact. What you will be doing

  • Maintaining and demonstrating deep product expertise to guide strategic decisions
  • Developing technical specifications that make sound and important technical decisions and prioritize simplicity, efficiency, and long-term viability
  • Implementing generative AI technologies to automate and streamline engineering processes, aligning with the strategic vision of reducing manual labor

What you will NOT be doing

  • Pure people management; your business and technical acumen will play critical roles in this position
  • Wasting your time in meetings, committees, and administrative tasks; we have automated management overhead so you can focus on creating business value through hands-on work
  • High-level strategies without implementation guidelines; your recommendations must be based on product-level insights

Key responsibilities

  • Secure critical business outcomes for a broad portfolio of enterprise and SMB products, generating tens of millions in ARR

Candidate requirements

  • 7+ years of experience making the important architecture and design decisions on software projects, such as the application of architecture design patterns or significant open source technologies
  • 2+ years of experience making design decisions involving the use of cloud computing services (primarily AWS)
  • 4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue-generating product
  • Experience building product features that make advanced use of Generative AI
  • Experience using Generative AI to simplify work processes
