AZ School Director   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in Arizona’s Latino-Hispanic communities? Novatio School is redefining education with an approach designed to meet the unique needs of Latino-Hispanic families. As the first virtual bilingual immersion school in the state, we provide a flexible, culturally resonant learning experience that empowers students to achieve academic excellence and embrace their heritage.

We are looking for a community leader who understands the values, challenges, and aspirations of Latino-Hispanic families in Arizona. This is not just about outreach; it’s about being an authentic advocate and trusted voice within the community. You are deeply connected to local families, community leaders, and cultural organizations, and you’re passionate about creating educational opportunities that resonate with their experiences.

At Novatio School, you will lead community and family engagement, build trusted relationships, and guide families to a better educational experience. If you are committed to educational equity and want to help families discover a school that understands and celebrates their identity, we want to meet you.

What you will be doing

  • Building Trust and Relationships: Collaborate directly with families, community leaders, and local organizations to build authentic connections grounded in trust and shared values.
  • Hosting Culturally Relevant Events: Lead bilingual information sessions and community events that genuinely reflect the experiences and aspirations of Latino-Hispanic families.
  • Supporting Families Through Enrollment: Guide parents through the enrollment process with empathy and transparency, offering real-life examples of student success.
  • Empowering Parent Advocates: Inspire and support parents to become advocates for educational equity, amplifying Novatio’s mission within their communities.
  • Celebrating Student and Family Success: Share student achievements in culturally resonant ways that celebrate family pride and community success.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Cold Calling or Using Sales Scripts: Community engagement at Novatio is built on authentic relationships, not transactional interactions.
  • Working Behind a Desk: This role is about being present and actively engaged in the community.
  • Focusing Only on Enrollment Numbers: You are growing a community of empowered families, not just increasing enrollment.
  • Managing Academic Operations: Your focus is family engagement and community connection, not educational administration.
  • Using One-Size-Fits-All Messaging: Every conversation is personalized to reflect the values, needs, and experiences of Latino-Hispanic families.

Key responsibilities

Build and nurture community trust and engagement by forming deep, meaningful relationships with families, community leaders, and organizations within Arizona’s Latino-Hispanic communities, helping them discover educational opportunities that resonate with their cultural values and aspirations.

Candidate requirements

  • Established credibility and trust within Arizona’s Latino-Hispanic communities.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English to effectively communicate and connect culturally.
  • In-depth understanding of Latino-Hispanic values and community dynamics.
  • Demonstrated success in organizing, advocacy, or outreach that fosters genuine connections.
  • Communicates clearly and persuasively, building trust and encouraging engagement.
  • Currently located in Arizona, and willing to travel and actively participate in community events across the state.
  • Eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
