- Are You Our Next Remote Work Rockstar?
Climbing Everest or acing Crossover’s CCAT – which is the true test? Andrew meets Dipesh Adhikari this week to hear how he conquered every remote challenge, from Nepal’s most scenic vista.
Hey, Welcome Back!
Ever taken a risk that could change your life forever?
🤔 Not many people can say they have.
And who can blame them! Risk aversion is a fact of nature. We are biologically wired to prefer safer, calmer and more stable paths that don’t come with any surprises.
❗ Especially in our careers. ❗
In many countries, remote work is unjustly labeled as a risky business.
It tragically shackles brilliant minds to mundane work and below-average pay, keeping them from the life-changing benefits of remote freedom.
Venturing into remote work can feel like staring up at Everest’s peak. While the climb seems daunting – even terrifying at times – without boldness and grit you’ll never know the taste of success once you reach the summit.
🏔️ And much like those who dare to climb, only a few can truly say, “I’ve done it.”
It takes calculated risk to rise to the top.
To understand that smart risks are based on research, not recklessness. And that even when risks don’t pay off, they leave behind invaluable lessons.
In Nepal, sometimes the smallest failure is seen as a disaster.
People avoid taking risks because disaster is more likely to strike. The thing is, these risks are steps along the journey of progress. It’s only when you blaze new trails that you can discover unchartered territories. 🗺️
And no-one knows this better than Dipesh Adhikari.👈🏼
This week I meet up with a man who took a risk that changed his life. He may be the only man alive who has trekked to Everest’s base camp and survived the Crossover testing process.
Sometimes the challenges of remote work take just as much mental and physical fortitude as trekking across an 8000-meter mountain.
🏞️ Dipesh shared his incredible remote work story with me at the top of the Chandragiri Hills in Kathmandu, overlooking one of the world’s most daring challenges: Everest itself.
It’s Episode 45, and in it we explore the courage to take calculated risks. Join me as Dipesh takes us on a striking journey that draws powerful parallels between trekking through mountains and succeeding in the world of remote work.
💡 What inspires him to climb higher in every aspect of life? Constant learning.
Find out how it helped him land a job as a QA Automation Engineer at Upland. From serving his community, to managing family responsibilities, and getting a postgrad degree – this is one career adventure heading straight to the highest peak.
