Description

You’re not here to chase headlines. You’re here to shape the narrative.

At 2 Hour Learning, we’re redefining what school looks like. Students crush academics in just two hours a day through AI-powered mastery learning, which opens up the rest of the day for life skills, creativity, and actual childhood. We’re the team behind Alpha School, where students consistently rank in the top 1 to 2 percent nationwide and genuinely love school.

Your mission is to help the world understand that story and make sure nothing important slips through the cracks.

In this role, you’ll run our media monitoring and PR reporting engine. You will track every article, blog post, or social thread that mentions us or our space. You'll use AI to surface insights and trends and build the systems that keep our communications team ahead of the curve. You won’t be writing press releases or pitching to journalists. Instead, you’ll be behind the scenes turning noise into clarity, organizing media coverage, and delivering sharp internal reports that inform decisions and support strategic storytelling.

If you're detail-obsessed, comfortable with AI tools, and ready to elevate the public credibility of one of the most disruptive education models in the country, this role is built for you.

What you will be doing

  • Using AI tools and your own judgment to track and tag media mentions
  • Building a structured archive with smart tags and intuitive folders so nothing important gets lost or buried
  • Writing clear, accurate summaries that highlight what matters most to our strategy and brand
  • Creating polished internal reports and dashboards that give leadership a clear picture without the fluff
  • Improving our tracking and tagging systems over time so we catch everything that counts and skip what doesn’t

What you will NOT be doing

  • Churning out press releases that no one reads or begging journalists for pickup
  • Wading through vague assignments or unclear priorities with no feedback loop
  • Getting pulled into brand storytelling or fluff writing when all you want is clarity and facts
  • Being treated like an admin instead of a knowledge worker with judgment and systems thinking
  • Waiting around for someone to tell you what to do — this role trusts you to take the lead

Key responsibilities

Deliver clean, accurate, and strategic media analysis that reinforces 2 Hour Learning’s credibility and supports high-impact communication.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in PR, journalism, communications, or media research
  • Strong ability to summarize content with accuracy and clarity
  • Experience organizing digital content using tools like Notion, Airtable, Google Drive, or spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT, Notion AI, or media monitoring platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently without needing reminders
  • Located in North America
